ARTIST STATEMENT
Pamela Beck’s art practice taps into a lifelonglove of contemporary art and the joy (andchallenge) of creating. A native Angeleno,Pamela has had a noteworthy career as a novelistand producer, whose novels include the NewYork Times bestsellers, FLING and RICH MEN,SINGLE WOMEN.
Pamela approaches her art-making journey andher shift into working as a visual artist with thesame passion and focus she poured into herliterary career. As her art practice developed, shemoved between dimensional compositions ofblack and white, the unexpected intersection ofcolor and light, and the endless potential ofabstraction. The work became its own kind ofstorytelling. While Pamela crisscrosses betweenseveral different series, each one builds upon theother, driven by curiosity, imagination and thethrill of invention.

PSYCHEDELIC
Pamela’s PSYCHEDELIC series explores the intersection ofcolor and light. Fascinated by how colors merge andtranscend the limits of their original hues, Pamela createshallucinogenic abstractions composed of fantasticalshapes, reflections, movement, and trippy explosions ofcolor. As a self-taught photographer, Pamela embracesinstinct and curiosity, breaking traditional rules to capturethe unseen. Working in darkness, her camera revealscollisions of colors and shapes invisible to the naked eye.
